BAN HENG RESTAURANT

 Cheap,Good and Worth
I have 3 friends who like to organize makan outing but with huge gap around more a year.And one of them will only can be tempted with cheap buffet.I told about this restaurant, that is having a cheap buffet.Within 3 day we were at this place small restaurant in HBD estate.
The first dish to come was seafood roll.this tasted like the one you get from a wet market.A real disappointment.Well we were prepared for the worst now.


Braised Sea Cucumber with Mushroom was very well braised soft tender with the sauce adding flavour to it.It was very good.
Deep fried Grouper in light Sauce.It was a very small fish, fresh,quite fleshly.The sauce was very good,with just the right amount of sweetness and salt.Was very nicely done.
Deep Fried Bean Crud in Hot Plate.It looked like the one bought from the market but surprising it was home made soft,melts in your mouth.top lightly with minced meat with  a good balanced light chilly, tomato sauce.

Deep fried Spring Roll.Small roll with cabbage as main ingredients was very crispy with little cabbage inside but was surprising very nice.





Fried Prawn with Black Pepper.Medium size prawns with sweet pepper sauce tossed was not spicy,was very good.
Steamed Sea Bass In light Sauce.Another small fish but fresh and the sauce accompanied it very well.Was very good.
Deep Fried Grouper in Thai Chilly Sauce.Well all the fish here today are only one size small but was fresh the sauce was very good in fact one of the better Thai Chilly sauce I had for sometime.
Fried Venison with Black Pepper.My friends loved it,I am not quite use to eating venison.
Roasted Chicken with Garlic.The meat was not juicy, slightly dried but still tasty.The skin was near paper thin crispy and garlic did some wonders to the taste.This was really very good,it was gone within seconds.
Baked Pork Spare Ribs with Coffee Sauce.The meat was soft nothing special but was good.
Baked Pork Spare Ribs with BBQ Sauce.It was okay quite nice to eat.
Braised Hot & Sour Soup in Sichuan Style.Was average my friends didn't quite like it.I am the one who end finishing the whole bowl.
Deep Fried Crispy Duck.I don't take duck,my friends said it was  crispy and good.
Fried Prawn with Cereals.This was another surprise,crispy oats with slight sweetness blended very well with the prawn which was quite tasty.
Kang Kong in Sambal Sauce.It's was good not bad.
Fried Dry Kway Teow.Nothing fancy,no cockles,no fish cake, no sausage, it like a breakfast Kway Teow.Compare with breakfast one  it's good.

Fruits with Prawn Salad.It was quite refreshing with mostly canned fruits and mayo with prawns topped on it,nice                                                           


Hot Mashed Taro with Gingko Nuts.Chilled Black Glutinous Rice with Coconut Milk.Chilled Longan with Pineapple.Chilled Sago with Honey Dew Melon.This were the desserts served.


For the price we paid most of the dishes exceeded our expectation.Worth very cent we paid.
A very good cheap buffet  for $16.80+.
